March 19 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm$100.00
Free-Motion Fundamentals is where it all begins.
Heidi Stagno will show you a quilting style that is developed through understanding the fundamentals of design formation. Her discovery of the following:
- Design Element
- and Travel
can be learned and applied to any design. In this class you will practice a few basic designs by applying the formula. Heidi will then take you through creating your own free-motion designs by applying the free-motion formula to your unique style.
This workshop will also cover proper selection of threads to maximize design impact.
SUPPLIES NEEDED: Thread snips, Frixion pen or other quilt friendly pen, pen and paper for notes, and camera for pictures if desired.
More about Instructor Heidi Stagno: Heidi first saw a longarm quilting machine while visiting a quilt shop. At that moment she was hooked. “I just wanted to get my hands on that machine and drive it”. Heidi has been professionally longarm quilting for 20 years. She has quilted over 3000 quilts and counting. She has won many awards for her quilting and loves teaching others her techniques. Heidi has appeared on “Quilt it” the longarm quilting show on QNN tv and has won the Handi-Quilter Way Award for the last three years consecutively. We are excited to have her teaching at AVS!
Please be aware that AVS wants to keep our staff and students healthy. During this time, AVS will not be supplying classrooms with cutting mats, rulers, irons, ironing boards or rotary cutters. Please bring your own. All machines, tables and chairs will be sanitized BEFORE and AFTER each class.
We ask that you sanitize your hands often, practice social distancing and wear a mask. Thank you!
