How to Die Cut 2-Color Bear’s Paw Quilt Blocks:
For best cutting results, position fabric on the lengthwise grain (straight of grain) as it goes under the roller. For 2-color block, cut 4 layers of 1 fabric color, then cut 4 layers of a contrasting color.
- Fabric Color 1: Cut one 10 3/4″ x width of fabric (WOF) strips. Fanfold four layers into 5″ widths. Sub cut four A shapes and 16 B shapes. Cut one 3″ x 3″ square. Sub cut into one C shape.
- Fabric Color 2: Cut one 15 1/4″ x width of fabric (WOF) strips. Fanfold four layers into 3 1/4″ widths. Sub cut 16 B shapes, four C shapes and four D shapes.
- Bear’s Paw is a Block on Board® (BOB®) die which means it’s specially designed to cut one complete 2-color, 14″ block in two passes through the cutter.
- Bear’s Paw includes seven basic shapes that are perfect for beginner quilters to practice piecing half square triangles accurately cut with AccuQuilt.
- Bear’s Paw features specialized dog-ears and includes 1/4″ seam allowances for easy alignment and piecing.

- It’s always a good idea to test cut one shape before cutting many shapes to ensure fabric orientation is correct.
