BERNINA Cordonnet Foot #11

Top-stitch smarter and smoother. The Cordonnet Foot #11 from BERNINA is built for precision decorative stitching and top-stitching with heavier threads such as cordonnet or top-stitch threads.

Key Benefits

  • 2-mm deep groove under the sole allows heavy top-stitch thread to glide smoothly and feeds evenly.
  • Perfect for cordonnet thread, thicker top-stitching threads, sashiko patterns and decorative designs.
  • Compatible with a wide range of BERNINA machines (5.5 mm and 9 mm machine widths) from entry-level to the 8-Series.
  • Ensures even fabric feed when you’re working with bulky threads or decorative techniques.

Specs At-a-Glance

Item Number 008 456.73.00 (also known as #11)
Groove Depth 2 mm under sole for heavy thread feed
Machine Width Compatibility 5.5 mm & 9 mm machines
Weight / Package ~0.227 kg (0.5 lb) product weight; package ≈0.300 kg

Usage & Setup Tips

1. Install the foot #11 on your BERNINA machine.
2. Use a top-stitch needle or larger needle eye to accommodate thicker thread.
3. Insert your cordonnet or heavy top-stitch thread as the upper thread; normal bobbin thread is fine.
4. Adjust your tension if needed and ensure the groove under the foot allows the thick thread to move smoothly.
5. Sew straight or decorative stitches—ideal for sashiko, couching, decorative trims, heavy cotton or denim.

Why This Foot Matters

If you’re struggling with skipped stitches, uneven feed, or fabric catching when using heavy top-stitch thread, this foot solves those problems. The groove design and compatibility with thicker threads give you professional results without headaches.
