Handi Quilter FreeWay Quilting Frame
Discover a new way to finish quilts with the sewing machine you already own. The Handi Quilter FreeWay is a compact, portable frame-supported quilting system that allows your sewing machine to move smoothly from side to side and front to back while your quilt remains supported on the frame. Designed for quilters who want more freedom and control without adding a dedicated longarm machine or permanent quilting frame, FreeWay sets up on a sturdy table and folds away when your quilting session is over.
Key Features
- Use the sewing machine you already own to explore frame-supported free-motion quilting without purchasing a dedicated longarm machine.
- Move the machine instead of the quilt for smooth side-to-side and front-to-back quilting motion.
- Up to 36" wide x 15" deep maximum quilting space, with actual quilting depth determined by your sewing machine's throat space.
- Compact 50" wide x 32" deep operational footprint makes FreeWay practical for sewing rooms where space is limited.
- Fits tables as small as 50" wide, allowing you to create a frame-quilting setup without a dedicated quilting studio.
- Folding design makes it easy to store the frame between quilting sessions.
- Portable and travel-ready for quilters who want to take their setup to classes, retreats, or other sewing spaces.
- Durable steel construction provides a sturdy foundation for smooth machine movement.
- Two-piece machine carriage included to support smooth free-motion movement of your sewing machine.
- Quilt clamps and rubberized clamps included to help secure your project during quilting.
Move the Machine, Not the Quilt
Instead of pushing and pulling a bulky quilt through the throat of your stationary sewing machine, FreeWay changes the quilting experience by allowing the machine itself to move. The two-piece carriage system provides smooth movement from side to side and front to back, giving you the freedom to stitch curves, loops, lines, and your own free-motion quilting designs while the quilt remains supported by the frame.
Start With the Sewing Machine You Already Own
FreeWay is designed to fit most sewing machines, making frame quilting more approachable for sewists who aren't ready for a dedicated longarm system. Place your compatible sewing machine on the carriage and experience the freedom of moving the machine over your quilt rather than maneuvering the entire quilt through a stationary machine.
Compact Frame-Supported Quilting
You don't need a dedicated quilting room to enjoy a frame-supported setup. The FreeWay has an operational footprint of approximately 50" wide by 32" deep and can be placed on a sturdy table. This compact format gives quilters a practical way to experience frame quilting in sewing rooms, multipurpose spaces, and other areas where a full-size quilting frame may not be practical.
Quilt Projects Big and Small
From wall hangings and smaller projects to bed-sized quilts, FreeWay gives you a flexible platform for finishing your own quilts. The maximum quilting area is up to 36" wide by 15" deep. Your actual quilting depth will depend on the throat space available on the sewing machine you use with the frame.
Set It Up, Quilt, Then Fold It Away
FreeWay is designed for sewing spaces that need to stay flexible. Set the frame up on a sturdy table when you're ready to quilt, then fold it down when you're finished. Folded dimensions are approximately 49.9" wide x 20.2" deep x 4.5" high, making the frame easier to store between projects than a permanent full-size quilting setup.
Built for Smooth Quilting Motion
A sturdy frame is essential when you're guiding a machine through free-motion quilting designs. FreeWay features durable steel construction with a powder-coated finish and a two-piece carriage system designed to give your sewing machine smooth movement across the quilting area.
