Built for Fast, Precise Straight Stitching
The Heavy Duty 8 is a straight-stitch specialist designed for sewists who value speed, consistency, and control. With a maximum sewing speed of 1,600 stitches per minute, it can move efficiently through long seams, quilt piecing, topstitching, and other repetitive sewing while still giving you the ability to reduce speed when precision matters.
Industrial-Inspired Performance
A vertical full-rotary industrial hook bobbin, industrial pre-tension threading, HLx5 needle system, and strong presser foot pressure give the HD8 the rugged feel serious sewists expect from a dedicated straight-stitch machine. These features work together to support smooth, dependable stitching on a wide range of sewing and quilting projects.
Designed for Quilters
The included extra-wide extension table expands your work surface to better support quilts and larger projects. A darning foot and darning plate are also included for free-motion quilting, while the even feed foot helps move multiple fabric layers evenly for quilting, matching seams, and other layered applications.
Convenient Controls
Everyday operation is streamlined with easy-access controls for needle positioning, speed adjustment, reverse stitching, and automatic thread cutting. The adjustable knee lift lets you raise the presser foot without removing your hands from the project, while the extra-high presser foot lift makes it easier to position bulky or layered fabrics.
Adjustable Fabric Control
An easy-to-read presser foot pressure adjustment dial gives you control over how firmly the presser foot holds the fabric. With up to 11 pounds of available pressure, you can fine-tune fabric handling for different materials, layers, and sewing techniques.
