Quilters Select Wool Press & Cut Mat 8" x 8"

Cut and press quilt blocks with one convenient, portable tool. The Quilters Select Wool Press & Cut Mat combines a precision cutting surface on one side with an 8mm wool pressing surface on the other, making it ideal for quilting classes, retreats, embroidery projects and everyday sewing.

Key Features

  • Dual-purpose 8 x 8-inch mat for cutting and pressing
  • Cutting side features 1-inch markings numbered in both directions for ambidextrous use
  • Detailed 1/8-inch increments for precise measuring and trimming
  • Includes commonly used angle markings for quilting projects
  • 8mm wool pressing surface helps reflect heat back into the fabric
  • Helps create crisp, flat seams while reducing pressing time
  • Compact size is perfect for travel, classes and small sewing spaces

What It Is Used For

Use the cutting side for measuring, trimming and rotary cutting quilt pieces, then flip the mat over to press blocks and seams on the wool surface. Its compact format is especially useful for quilt blocks, foundation piecing, machine embroidery, appliqué and other small sewing projects.

Size & Care

The mat measures 8 x 8 inches and features an 8mm wool pressing layer.

  • Iron only on the wool side
  • Do not apply an iron directly to the cutting surface
  • Do not roll the mat for storage
  • Allow the wool to cool after steam pressing before turning the mat over
  • Keep the cutting surface away from direct sunlight and excessive heat to help prevent warping

Why Quilters Will Like It

Instead of carrying separate cutting and pressing surfaces, this versatile mat puts both functions into one compact tool. The detailed cutting grid supports accurate trimming, while the wool side reflects heat through the fabric to help produce crisp seams and beautifully pressed quilt blocks.
